What's next at the barn?
We've finished casting for "The Replacement" by New York playwright Jacob Appel, and the cast includes Veronica Strickland, Nancy Young, John Lamar,
Tasha Levy, Meagan McGlinchey and Erica Strickland.
"The Replacement" follows the plans of Bonnie, a loving and devoted wife and mother of three girls, as she seeks to provide for her family after her "passing" by presenting them with her replacement.  Her husband Donald and daughters Pam, Dana and Amelia are all struggling with their own issues, and this just isn't the time for them to have to deal with such outlandishness as Bonnie's declining health and attempts to manage the family from "the beyond." But what are you going to do, right?
The show goes up September 26/27, October 3/4/10/11 at the Intentional Theatre barn.

What you missed in May...
We kicked off our 2008 season with a comedy by up'n'coming Florida playwright Jay Huling, "Hard Luck Sings The Blues."  The "Hard Luck" cast included Tim Shrimplin, Courtney Leivers, Mary Zuzik, and Jim Frank, all newcomers to Intentional Theatre.  We also welcomed back Brian Olsen and William Hine, veterans and "founding members" of our theater. As a special treat, we were joined in this production by members of
The Second Step Players
from Norwich, famous for over 20 years for their
annual presentation at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center here in Waterford.
Welcome to our stage Robin Fleming and John Lamar!
We filmed our show this time around, and for our "Creator's" review and an idea of what you missed if you didn't get to see it, check this out.

Generously sponsored by Supreme Pizza of Waterford, proud supporters of the arts and Intentional Theatre since our first production in 2005.  Supreme Pizza, 27 Boston Post Road in Waterford. 860-443-8177.  Tell them we sent you!

BRUSH WITH FAME:  We're happy to share notes of success of those who have crossed our path.  Two playwrights whose work was included in our First Annual Short Play Festival have been honored in different ways.
-->  Jim Gordon's play "Untitled #2" will be published in Smith & Krause’s 2007 anthology of the best short plays of 2006.
-->  La'Chris Jordan, whose plays "Impressions" and "Moment of Love" we presented, was named as one of the "Top 50 Playwrights to Watch" in the July '07 issue of The Dramatist, the Dramatists Guild's magazine.
--> Jay Huling, whose riotous play "Bonjour Raconteur" closed our Short Play Festival, won the Drury University One-Act Play Competition with "The Wily Ray Riley" and it will be produced in Missouri in April 2008. And his full-length comedy Twelve Bar Blues will receive a six-week production by The Vagabond Players Theatre Company in Los Angeles in February-March 2008.
 Congratulations to them all.
